BLEACH LONDON LIP KIT REVIEW

Drama school has changed me in many different ways, and one significant change over the past few months has been my choice to go no make-up for a lot of the time, which is why I hardly post make-up-related posts any more - It's because I don't have anything to write about if I don't wear it. I've also not purchased any new make-up for a long time, maybe because I've been really into skincare instead, plus I've began making changes in the brands that I do buy from. Me and some friends have been talking recently about how we want to only buy from cruelty-free brands, as I think nowadays if a brand still tests on animals then they're just arseholes. So many brands don't, so why do you? When I first started venturing into the beauty world, it seemed that MAC Cosmetics was the place to go, and I'll hold my hands up to say that I bought many a lipstick, eye shadow, highlight - Some I still have in my collection, but never really use anymore. My first lipstick from MAC was the shade Ruby Woo, a cult favourite for those who love a red lip, and for a long time it was my all-time favourite too. The tone suited my fair skin and green eyes, whilst lasting for hours and having a solid, matte finish. I didn't think anything could replace it, but I think I may have found a serious contender. And what's even better? The brand is cruelty-free.

I've featured BLEACH London on this blog before, in fact I've even written a whole appreciation post back in the day on their hair care. But now they have their own make up line, and I couldn't be happier! Shockingly, this is the first piece of make up I've tried from them, this being one of their Lip Kits in I Saw Red. As I've mentioned, their brand is cruelty-free and vegan, although I do know that some of their lip liners contain beeswax right now - Something which is the suppliers fault, and they're trying to phase out as soon as possible. Everything else though is completely vegan, and this Lip Kit has become a game changer for my favourite red lip.

This Ruby Woo dupe has exactly the same longevity as a normal bullet lipstick, even more so with the lip liner that's included in the kit. The feel on the lips isn't as tacky or drying as other liquid lipsticks that I've encountered, but the finish is just as matte and definitely an opaque colour. Speaking of colour, their range has some iconic shades if you're a fan of the brand, such as Awkward Peach and Washed Up Mermaid, although I would love some more shades from them like a deeper red or bright orange. With BLEACH London also being a drugstore brand, they have their make-up range available at Superdrug, however I feel as though Boots really need to step-up and bring their beauty range too, as right now they only seem to stock hair care. As for the price of £12.00 per kit, I'd say this is more on the higher-end of drugstore pricing, and to some this may seem a little too much, but I guess for the lip liner, liquid lipstick, and quality, I'd be happy to pay this again.
