The summer saw me and my best friends take a little trip to the Lake District for the weekend, where I also got to celebrate my 21st birthday, and most importantly have a well-needed rest before beginning my third year of drama school. I thought it would be nice to have a look back at some of the snaps taken during our time away, as the summer ends and we see in autumn. For me and my friends, this was the first trip we've taken together ever - I think we were all surprised, considering I've know these people for nearly 10 years! But they all made this trip so special for my birthday, even decorating the place where we stayed with balloons and bunting (And the usual giant number balloons that seem to be a must for any 'big' birthday). So thank you, and this post is for you guys.
For the most part we were lucky to have the sun on our side, and so we visited places like Lancaster Castle and Windermere, as well as experiencing some first times - Like paddle boarding, which I now consider myself a pro at (aka I stood up for a whole 2 minutes on the board). Our short time in Lancaster was also lovely, as we got to have a little browse around cute book shops, and fill up on vegan pizza before carrying on with our trip. We then continued to the place we'd be calling home for the weekend, that being Hartsop Fold in Patterdale, our lodge with a nearby waterfall, where you can bet we had an impromptu photo shoot at.
Our time together was filled with many laughs, many bottles of prosecco, and introducing the Heathers album to the group, in which I'd like to think my rendition of Seventeen was thoroughly enjoyed by all. When the dreaded day came where we had to say goodbye, I think we were all sad to leave the hot tub behind, although when the heavens opened on our last day, it was probably a sign that we had chosen a good time to leave. I hope in the future we can take many more trips like this together, and so I can master the art of paddle boarding for my acting CV. Again, thank you to my best friends for making my birthday so special, and I'm so happy that I got to go back to a place that I haven't visited myself in a very long time.
