THAT YELLOW BAG

Whenever I welcome a new piece into my wardrobe, I usually spend the following week wearing it non-stop and trying to find different ways to style it. Something that was definitely missing in my life was an over the shoulder style of bag, something that I could just fit my purse and phone in whenever I'm out and about - As usually I have my go-to tote bag or backpack. Of course, since I've also been obsessed with yellow, this bag from H&M was perfect for me, and didn't cost an awful lot compared to others on the high street that I'd found. The brightness of the colour is perfect for spring and summer, and the sizing of the bag is just right for what I needed.

Styling such a bright bag may seem a little daunting at first, but I've put together some simple outfits to give some inspiration. The first is more of a city-style, tailored look, that with a blazer could even work for a smarter, business look. Beginning with the trousers, the dark, forest green works really well against the yellow bag, as I always love a good colour clash. For the rest of the outfit I've then kept it simple with a monochrome button-up shirt, detailed with a small love heart pattern. As a finishing touch I then decided to throw on my classic fedora hat; which I haven't worn in so long, but I do miss very much. Me and my fedora used to be inseparable a few years ago, but now I find that I don't wear hats as much as I used to, but I'm determined to change that. All together, this outfit shows you how to clash a little colour in your attire, but also keeping it simple with the accents of monochrome.

The next outfit sees a much simpler take on monochrome styling, for this I'm showing you how such a basic black and white outfit can be made that little bit more special with a pop of bright colour from the yellow bag. Accessories like sunglasses also work really well here, matching up the accents of gold on the bag's hardware. This look would probably be more suited to the warmer weather, which we've actually had in the UK this week, as the material is light-weight perfect for casual wear. If you did want to go a little more extra with this look, a bold, graphic tee would totally work too. Hopefully here I've been able to give you some ideas on how to style such a bright accessory, and encourage you to add more colour into your wardrobe this season!
